Who we are

Africans in Distress Care Trust (ADICT) is a national non- governmental and non-profit making organization established in 2002 and incorporated in 2005.

  • To carryout advocacy and assist in providing basic health care services to girl-child, women and children in the rural communities in Nigeria.
  • To promote and assist in providing basic Health Care Services for girl-child, women and children in rural communities of Nigeria through integrated health delivery services.
  • To create awareness of improved life style of rural residents by assisting in the provision of basic Education to girl-child, women and children.
  • To give care and support for the wellbeing of girl-child, women and children in rural communities through empowerment such as vocational/skill acquisition programs.

who_we_are

  • To increase each year at least 500 rural women’s access to quality reproductive health services, and to improve their health seeking behaviour for sexual and reproductive health.
  • To give the girl-child a sense of belonging and empower them with the right assets to participate legally in income generation and encourage self-reliance.
  • To promote children education and right to development and participation and increase the rate of girl-child enrolment in school
  • To reduce early pregnancies and forced marriage amongst female children by educating them, parents and the rural communities
  • To improve up to2000 women and adolescents’ (especially girl-child) evidence based information on sexual and reproductive health annually.
  • To train quarterly up to200 women from rural communities on the principles and practice of entrepreneurship.
  • To equip and establish girl-child, women and children in their various fields of interest and vocation.
  • To enroleach year up to 300 women and youth in our micro-credit scheme as a way of empowering them.
  • Unwavering commitment and honesty in reaching girl-child out of school, women and children in the rural communities.
  • We efficiently and resourcefully disburse funds to get maximum results in touching and reaching children and women in rural communities, being accountable to our partners and supporters.
  • Experienced and dedicated staff and volunteers committed to the best, care and support and improving the quality of everything we do for the girl-child, women and children in this local communities.
  • Strict application of funds to designated projects.
  • Transparency and accountability in handling of projects in making the lives of children and women better.
  • We embrace change, new ideas/innovations and risk in sustainable development for the girl-child, women and children.
